The beach is long and wide with fine white sand, the turquoise sea is warm, and a Coral Reef protects the Bay. Sometimes you will see turtles and manatees inside the reef and maybe in the distance whales.

Strong thermal winds and sunshine are well-known in Cabarete Bay making it the very best spot for Kitesurfing and Windsurfing. The beach is sheltered from the stronger wind on the water allowing pleasant sun-bathing.
Cabarete is a short stroll along the beach from Villa Gecko. The town has grown from a small sleepy fishing-community to a lively and thriving village. There are many shops, bars, and restaurants along the beach and in the main street. There is even a Casino!
